The Bill Clinton Foundation
Since being President, Clinton has been involved in public speaking, humanitarian work and formed his own foundation. To help in international problems, such as HIV, global warming, and the bringing together of global leaders to promote communications, Clinton founded the William J. Clinton Foundation. The foundation focuses on worldwide concerns that need responses now. Clinton wanted to focus on areas that he could make the most difference as an individual. The Foundation is a global nongovernmental funded organization. The William J. Clinton Foundation has approximately 1,100 staff and volunteers in several countries. In the United States alone there are offices in New York City, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Boston, Massachusetts, just to name a few. The Foundation, working with foreign governments and other partners, makes a significant impact in the lives of hundreds of millions of people around the world through its seven initiatives:
- Clinton Global Initiative - Turning Ideas Into reality
- Clinton Climate Initiative – Trying to work more Green
- Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative – Better, cheaper cures
- Alliance for a Healthier Generation –Healthy Inspiration
- Clinton Economic Opportunity Initiative – More funding to help families stabilize
- Clinton Hunter Development Initiative –Promote income and self sustainability in Africa
- Clinton Giustra Sustainable Growth Initiative - Enabling Economic Development through government help
The mission of the William J. Clinton Foundation is to strengthen the people in the United States and throughout the world to meet the trials of global connection. To advance this mission, the Clinton Foundation has developed programs and partnerships in the following areas:
