Bill Clinton and Barack Obama
Clinton was extremely angry when Barack Obama beat Hillary in the Primaries. According to the Daily News August 4, 2008, Clinton admits there is still one thing that he cannot say; Barack Obama is ready to be President. Clinton said he wished he could have a few of his words back. “There are things that I wished I urged her to do, things I wished I said, things I wished I hadn’t said,” Clinton said. But he defended his record on race. “I am not a racist - I never made a racist comment and I didn’t attack him personally,” Clinton said. In the same printing Clinton was quoted saying “He clearly can inspire and motivate people and energize them, which is a very important part of being President,” “And he’s smart as a whip so there’s nothing he can’t learn.” Clinton had remained very upset that Barack Obama had beaten his wife Hillary Clinton in the Primary’s. I think that Clinton forgot that is why we are a democratic society. It’s not up to the Government as to who will be president. It is up to the people that had taken time out of their day on November 4 to vote and say who they wanted to be President.
Bill Clinton was not much of a support for Barack Obama on his campaign trail which as I see it was quite a tragedy. If they had they worked together and put their three great minds to work great things could have happened and personal feelings could have been quashed. Simply put Barack Obama did have a great team, wonderful strategies and did win the election with our without Bill Clinton’s help.
As of recent, it has been said that Barack Obama, President Elect, has requested Hilary Clinton take the job of Secretary of State. There are many things still to be considered before there is any confirmation on whether or not she will take the position. Many aspects must be considered before a true and complete offering and acceptance can be given. One of those being investments and financial earnings and loses of Clinton’s personal foundation.
